On July 21st, Sarah Langley from Sir John Lawes school in Harpenden embarked on an adventure to help raise money for Orphans Know More. She flung herself from a plane at 13000 feet, free-falling at speeds up to 120mph, before landing safely in the fields below. Sarah first had the idea after seeing a presentation about Orphans Know More at her school. Sarah thought to herself, ‘Why should I have all that I have, when they have so little. I must do something for them!’
Sarah worked incredibly hard raising support from friends, her school and local churches for the jump, and was pledged over £1,900 which will all go towards helping the families Orphans Know More works with in Uganda. If you would still like to sponsor Sarah now she has succesfully completed the jump, please go to http://www.justgiving.com/sarahlangley. Well done Sarah!!
“The jump was really amazing, it was very exhilerating when I was hanging over the edge of the aircraft 13,000 feet above the ground. It went so quickly that I couldn’t really remember what had happened until I watched the DVD after. At one point after releasing the parachute my instructor gave me full control over the parachute which was quite scary as I had no idea what to do. The whole experience was great and is something that I think I’m now going to take up.”

Taking the jump to start OKM seemed daunting to us, but we’re so glad we did. Congratulations on your daring and successful fundraiser! We are proud of you, as your parents, friends and family also must be! May you continue to inspire generosity and risktaking through your passion for needy children!
